Julie Warriner

So here I am again, back as Chair of the Institute of Value Management for a second 2 year term (having held this role a number of years ago). This is because I am passionate about the benefits robust Value Management application can give, both within my own industry (the Transport Sector) and wider.

I have now been directly involved in Value Management for nearly 20 years. Following Foundation training in VM back in 1998, I strongly believed that I could make a difference in Value Management. Hence I took this back to the company I work in and have continued to spearhead, embrace, deliver and offer benefit to the company and the many projects we deliver. This includes ensuring VM is a core requirement, setting strategy, and undertaking hands-on training, mentoring and delivery.

In addition I still network with others outside the Transport sector to ensure best practice thrives.

I am a Trainer and Professional in Value Management, as well as holding other qualifications including an MSc in Construction Law & Arbitration, Diploma in Psychology. For me the VM accreditation which the IVM offers is second to none, being recognised throughout Europe and wider.

My belief is that there are still great benefits to be derived from Optimising “Value”, however I also feel that we should do this aligned with other methodologies such as:

  • Benefits Management
  • Lean
  • Risk Management
  • Quality
  • and many more!

Outside of work and the IVM, I am married with a son and two step-daughters.
