The Institute of Value Management (IVM) held ‘A conference on Value Management and Lean’ in Durham on 27 September 2018

Different organisations use varying approaches for improving how they manage and deliver value for their customers, stakeholders and shareholders.
With this in mind, we explored if there is a clear linkage between these different techniques that strive to enhance value?

The event featured presentations and group discussions around the themes below, which aimed to explore the linkages.

Speakers included knowledgeable industry leaders in each area:

  • Set up – Early Value Management: – Julie Warriner from Network Rail & Chair of the IVM
  • Build – Lean in action on-site within the Construction sector: – Richard Daley from Turner & Townsend’s Operational Excellence team
  • Supply Chain – Delivering value through the Supply Chain in the Road sector: – Derek Drysdale, Lean Construction Institute
  • Case Study – Northumbrian Water and their Run2Lean initiative: – John Robson from Northumbrian Water & IVM Executive and Andy Spooner of ASLeanSolutions.
