Certification Levels

There are three levels of recognised certification

Based on experience and knowledge:

  • Qualified Value Associate (QVA) – (Europe) – This qualification signals someone who has a good understanding of the principles and the basic tools of Value Management. The individual is able to apply them within their own day-to-day work and contribute effectively as a member of a value study team. The qualification does not imply any competence to design or lead a value study.
  • Professional in Value Management (PVM) – (Europe). This qualification signals competence to lead value studies in a variety of environments and contribute to the development of VM strategies.
  • Trainer in Value Management (TVM) – (Europe). In order to develop competence to train to an appropriate standard, the qualification of Trainer in Value Management (TVM) has been introduced. This qualification is only available for PVMs with at least 2 years experience, who have completed an approved train the trainer course.

Training & Certification Process

There are three stages to the VM training namely Module 1 (Foundation), Module 2 (Advanced 1) and Module 3 (Advanced 2). Usually the foundation course can be completed by either a 3-day Face to Face course or by an e-Learning course followed by a 1-day Face to Face session. The Advanced courses include 3-day Face to Face sessions.
